• U.S. Army training manual provides a unique insight into sniper warfare

With the increase in civil disorders, the term sniper has come into common usage, and is now erroneously used to describe any person who fires at a specific area or person with any type of firearm.

This 1994 edition shows sniper training tactics and techniques as taught by the U.S. Army and in reference to"a sharp-shooter concealed to harass the enemy by picking off individual members, usually at long-range and with a telescope-sigh equipped rifle.” All of which is a dedicated, difficult and both physically and demanding skill.

Chapters cover equipment, marksmanship, field techniques, mission preparation, sniper operations, field communications, tracking/countertracking and sustained training skills.

The manual also includes an in-depth look at sniper weapons of the world and the M21 Sniper Weapon System, illustrated in great detail.
