America’s founding genealogical organization, the New England Historic Genealogical Society (NEHGS) was established in 1845 and is the country’s leading resource for family history scholarship. Our long tradition of publishing dates from 1847 when our highly respected quarterly journal, The New England Historical and Genealogical Register, first appeared. In addition to the Register, NEHGS produces American Ancestors, a popular quarterly magazine; Mayflower Descendant, a journal of Pilgrim genealogy and history; and 20-30 print and electronic books annually on a wide variety of genealogical and historical topics. In 1996, NEHGS established Newbury Street Press, the premier private publisher of family histories. Written by our staff of world-class genealogists, compiled genealogies published under our Newbury Street Press imprint are impeccably documented, archival-quality books that will be treasured by family members for years to come.
Due to changes in shipping and delivery caused by Brexit, there may be a short delay in shipping European orders placed over Christmas and New Year while changes to our infrastructure are implemented. We appreciate your patience during this transition.
